The fantastic, indeed legendary WARP label are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, true to form they’re doing it in fine style, not only by throwing some huge parties in Paris, New York and Tokyo, but also by finishing the whole thing off in Sheffield, their hometown.

I’ll be playing and getting involved at some of the several events planned in the city throughout September, more details coming soon.

In the meantime, you have another week or so to pre-order one of the seriously tasty looking anniversary BOX SETS which, amazingly - given the calibre of their back catalogue - features a little track we did for the label back in ‘95 under the RAC moniker. It’s a cracking new cut from the Jet Project boys, and features mixes from the ever on form Worthy, Darius Syrossian & Nyra and Duckbeats !

It’s part of their month of 15th Birthday celebrations for the Subculture night, one of the longest running and most important Saturday nights out for House music EVER !

I’ll be heading up north this Saturday for a welcome return to the rather excellent FREAKIN in York. Last time I played, there was exactly 78 % more vibe per square metre than should be possible, according to the laws of rave physics - in other words, it goes OFF !

Having thoroughly warmed the engine in Belfast last weekend with the unstoppable Jet Project boys, I’m raring to go, so if you’re in the neighbourhood, come and get your Freak on !

So there I am, in the cellar of my house, sorting through old records, tidying up and making room for new vinyl stock, when I stumble across a box full of old tapes….now this is a box I was pretty much convinced had gone missing during a house move a few years back, so I was surprised and delighted to unearth it again. In true time capsule fashion, I had completely forgotten about most of its contents and it’s a real mixed bag of audio delights.

So I decided to dust off the tape deck and digitize them all, a long and labourious job, which will no doubt take months, but at least I can share the best bits with you all here : ]

I’ve added a FROM THE VAULTS section at the bottom of the MIXES page, and will be uploading mixes as I get round to recording them in….some of mine, some from other DJ’s…first up is about an hour from our now sadly defunct Scuba night in Sheffield…recorded around 2002 I think - Rewind and come again !

Back in the saddle now (just about) after the birth of my beautiful daughter Mae on December 10th !
On account of being snowed in (and under), it’s been a productive few days…
